Food for Thought

There are on this Site a number of essays that I have collectively
labeled "Food for Thought", which discuss various
aspects of the estate planning process. They were prepared
over a period of time as client education pieces, and not
originally with a view to appearing on this Site.
They are deliberately generic and I believe (but cannot assure)
that they would largely apply in all jurisdictions in the
U.S.A., with the proviso, however, that in a couple of the
pieces there are a few specific references to Maryland law.
The essays on selection of fiduciaries, on preparing a letter
of instructions, and on disability planning are relatively
non-controversial --- the essay on lifetime giving has a
particular point of view, which I have taken no trouble to
hide. You may agree or not, as you see fit, but I hope it
at least stimulates your thinking on the subject.
